Trip Week

On June 1st we got to go to The Black Creek Pioneer Village and it was amazing.
On June 2nd we got to go to The Toronto Zoo we saw wonderful animals but the bus drive there was pretty long.
And on June 4th we are going to go to The Toronto Blue Jays game, i don't really watch baseball but i think it's going to be a blast.
I had so much fun at the Pioneer Village and Toronto Zoo and now i can't wait to go to The blue jays game.
And the best thing is we get to miss class. These 3 trips were only $50.00

Swine Flu

The swine flu is a disease of pigs. People do not normally get the swine flu. The swine flu spreads from people-to-people. The swine flu happens to be contagious and it is spreading from human to human. People with swine flu a fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headaches, chills. Some people have diarrhea and they are vomiting associated with swine flu. If you do not wanna get the swine flu you should: wash your hands. Try to stay in good general health. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food. And try to avoid close contact with people who are sick. Poeple in Mexico are wearing face masks because the sdwine flu is in Mexico and is spreading around the world.

What can I do to protect myself from getting sick?

There is no vaccine available right now to protect against swine flu. There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza. Take these everyday steps to protect your health:
1) Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

2)Wash your hands often with soap and waterFOR 15-20 seconds, especially after you cough or sneeze.

3)Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

4)If you get sick with influenza, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

Tukimsi's visit (history presentation)

On april. 17. 2009 Tukimsi came to our school. An actor who played Tukimsi came to our school and told us about Tukimisi's life and family. We had to sit in the library on the floor for 3 hours. But some parts were exciting like how girls were in charge and the men had to listen to the woman or the men were kicked out of the house. And everyone was treated equal. So when "Tukimsi" came he wanted us to sit in a circle on the floor so everyone will be treated equal.

The world needs more...

I think the world needs more peace and love becasue if everyone was peaceful and loving we wouldn't have violence like shootings, robberies, stabbings etc. If this world was peaceful and loving we would all be safe.

Right now our world is violent. We have problems going on everyday. If we were peaceful and loving we would be safe and we wouldn't have to be scared. And if we didn't have drugs people wouldm't be dying.

Dr. Eva Olssen's visit

During the assembly i felt sorry for Eva Olssen because she went threw a lot and she still survived. She told us aboout her experience. Dr Eva Olssen is a jewish girl. She was only 19 years old when all of this happend to her. Of her entire family of 89 people, only she and her youngest sister, Fradel survived.

She told us that they were being taken to Geremany in a train. They didn't get any food. They had to get bald so people can use the hair for their socks and stuff.

When she told us about this tragic thing that happend to her and the pictures she showed us i felt really sorry for her. Half of the people were in a gas chamber so they can get killed and they were shot by the police

Spirit Week

Heey guys this week in Morning Star Middle School we have spirit week. Spirit week is where we dress up. So....

Monday- Twin Day
Tuesday- Costume Day
Wednesday- Nerd Day
Thursday- Pajama Day/Village Day
Friday- Culture Day

So monday you wear the same clothes as your friend so you'll look like twins
ON tuesday you wear a superhero or villan costume
Wednesday you dress up like a nerd
Thursday you wear your Pajama's with your village shirt
And friday you wear your culture clothing

So dress up and participate in SPIRIT WEEK. It will be a blast!!

Reading or Writing?

I think reading is better than writing because reading is fun and writing you have to do a lot of work like think of a topic, think of the story and edit etc. And reading you have to read and books are adventerous,fun,scary,funny etc. Sometimes our language teacher isn't here and we have a supply teacher so we have to write about a topic for 20 minutes or read for 20 minutes. I rather read a book becasue you have to write a lot and you might not know what to write and then you get frusterated. So i prefer reading instead of writing

Earth Hour is here!!!!

Heey guys. It's earth hour on Saturday,March,28,2009!! Earth hour is where you turn off your electricity from 8:30 to 9:30. Earth Hour began in Sydney, Australia in 2007, when 2.2 million people turned off there electricity for 1 hour. Earth hour will make people aware of global warming. You can use flashlights instead of using your lights. So participate in earth hour. If you didn't participate in earth hour last year you have the chance to particicpate this year. If you participated last year how was it? Participation can be fun. So try it out! I will also be participating in earth hour i also particicpated last year.

My march break

My march break was pretty boring.....
I watched t.v went shopping went on the computer. And i was sick for the whole week, i got a headache and had a flu. So i didn't do much. This was our last break our next break will be in June.
